Private Investment increased by 12.6 percent in the first quarter of 2011, compared to 9.2 percent increase in the previous quarter. Investment in private machinery and equipment increased by 14.7 percent. Likewise, the import of capital goods expanded by 24.5 percent in order to response to capacity expansion, specifically in petroleum, electrical appliances, and automobiles industries.
