وقد عملت كلّ من لجنة الإعلام - بصفتها الهيئة المعنية بالسياسات - وإدارة شؤون الإعلام - بصفتها الهيئة الاستراتيجية والتقنية والتنفيذية - على تحسين تعاونهما عبر زيادة التنسيق مع هيئات الأمم المتحدة الأخرى، واستخدام التكنولوجيات الجديدة، وعقد شراكات مع وسائط الإعلام والمنظمات غير الحكومية والأوساط الأكاديمية والمجتمع المدني.
