Aunque estos informes en su mayoría se refieren al uso terapéutico de otras biguanidas el hecho de que Db-FORMIN® COMPUESTO esté hecho a base de metformina (una biguanida), hace necesario tomar en cuenta las siguientes precauciones para su uso: no utilizarlo en pacientes con alteraciones capaces de aumentar el riesgo de acidosis láctica (insuficiencia cardiaca, renal y hepática, enfermedades vasculares isquémicas, insuficiencia respiratoria, infarto agudo del miocardio y otras enfermedades caracterizadas por hipoxemia).
