This is where Crop Insurance comes as handy to the poor farmers who are entangled by various risk factors for which the State Government is implementing Crop Insurance Schemes viz., Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Coconut Palm Insurance Scheme to extend financial support to farmers suffering from crop loss/damage arising out of unforeseen events. stabilize the income of farmers to ensure their continuance in farming and encourage the farmers to adopt innovative and modern agricultural practices.

இவை சிறு விவசாயிகளின் வாழ்வாதாரம் மற்றும் வருமானத்தை பாதிப்பதோடு, வேளாண் பிரிவில் தொய்வு நிலையை ஏற்படுத்துவதுடன் விவசாயிகளின் வறுமையை அகற்றவல்ல திறனையும் பாதிக்கின்றன . இது போன்ற அசாதாரண சமயங்களில், பல்வேறு இடர்பாடுகளால் பாதிப்புக்குள்ளாகும் விவசாயிகளுக்கு உதவும் வகையில், பிரதம மந்திரி பயிர் காப்பீட்டுத்திட்டம் மற்றும் தென்னைக் காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டம் போன்ற பயிர் காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டங்களை தமிழ்நாடு அரசு செயல்படுத்தி, இயற்கை இடர்பாடுகளால் பயிர் இழப்பு ஏற்படும் போது விவசாயிகளுக்கு நிதி உதவி வழங்குதல் பண்ணை வருவாயை நிலைப்படுத்தி வேளாண் பணிகளில் விவசாயிகள் தொடர்ந்து ஈடுபடுவதை உறுதி செய்தல் புதிய அதிநவீன தொழில்நுட்பங்களை விவசாயிகள் தங்கள் வயல்களில் பின்பற்றுவதை ஊக்குவித்தல் போன்ற பல்வேறு உதவிகளை செய்து வருகிறது.
