Ganz anders das vom Rat am 20. Juni 1989 ft angenommene Programm Value: Hier besteht Hoffnung auf entscheidende Änderungen der Größenordnung in der Politik der wissenschaftlichen Kommunikation, weil neben dem traditionellen Mittel der Veröffentlichung auch der Aufbau der Datenbank Cordis und der Verbund der EDV-Netze vorgesehen ist, die für die Mitteilung der wissen ¬ schaftlichen und technischen Informationen auf dem gesamten Gebiet der Gemeinschaft verwendet werden.

It is more likely to be the Value programme, adopted by the Council on 20 June 1989 ft, that will bring about a decisive change in the scale of science communi ¬ cation policy. In addition to the traditional medium of publication, the programme provides for the creation of the Cordis data base and the linking of the computer networks used for the communication of scientific and technical information across the Community.

Een beslissende schaalvergroting in het beleid betreffende de wetenschappelijke communicatie mag eerder worden verwacht van het door de Raad op 20 juni 1989 vastgestelde programma Value ft, want naast de traditionele publikatie voorziet dit programma ook in de oprichting van de gegevensbank Cordis en de onderlinge koppeling van de informaticanetwerken die worden gebruikt voor het verspreiden van wetenschappelijke en technische gegevens over het hele grondgebied van de Gemeenschap.
