In Roč wurde seinerzeit das Missale des Fürsten Novak, eines der schönsten kroatischen Schriftdenkmäler, das in eckiger Glagoliza-Schrift abgefasst wurde und aus dem Jahr 1368 stammt, zum Druck vorbereitet wie auch das Missale Romanum, das erste Messbuch in kroatischer Sprache und das erste Missale in Europa, das weder in Latein abgefasst noch in lateinischer Schrift gedruckt wurde, sowie die erste slawische zweifarbig (rot und schwarz) abgedruckte Inkunabel und das weltweit erste Buch, das man mit versetzbaren Lettern druckte.

The 1368 Missal of Duke Novak, one of the most beautiful cultural monuments written in the angular variant of the Croatian Glagolitic script, was prepared for print in Roč, as well as the Missale Romanum Glagolitice, the first book printed in Croatian and the first missal in Europe not written in Latin, the first Slavic incunabulum printed in two colours - red and black, and the first book in the world printed by movable type.
