En este último curso, el libro presta especial atención a la razón por la que Miguel Serveto abandona España: tuvo una reyerta muy seria con su pariente, el maestre Gaspar Lax, Maestro Mayor, Vicecanciller y Rector de la Universidad, un hombre muy influyente en el mundo académico, y esto hizo que la familia de Sigena y las universidades españolas se volviesen contra Miguel Serveto, y así, tuvo que irse a la Universidad de Toulouse.
