للقيام على نحو أفضل بسد الثغرات القائمة بين السياسات والممارسات في تحقيق الأهداف والغايات التي وضعت للعقد الأفريقي الثاني للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة (2010-2019)، اعتُمدت خطة العمل القارية المنقحة للعقد الأفريقي للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة (2010-2019) في الدورة الثالثة لمؤتمر وزراء الاتحاد الأفريقي المسؤولين عن التنمية الاجتماعية، الذي عقد في أديس أبابا في الفترة من 26 إلى 30 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2012.

With a view to addressing better the gaps between policy and practice in realizing the goals and objectives established for the second African Decade of Persons with Disabilities (2010-2019), the revised Continental Plan of Action of the African Decade of Persons with Disabilities (2010-2019) was adopted at the third session of the African Union Conference of Ministers of Social Development, held in Addis Ababa from 26 to 30 November 2012.

С целью более эффективного устранения расхождений между политикой и практикой в реализации целей и задач, намеченных к выполнению на второе Африканское десятилетие инвалидов (2010–2019 годы), на третьей сессии Конференции министров социального развития стран — членов Африканского союза, которая проходила в Аддис-Абебе с 26 по 30 ноября 2012 года, был принят пересмотренный Континентальный план действий по проведению Африканского десятилетия инвалидов (2010–2019 годы).
