The present invention comprises: a satellite terminal short-range communication module for performing short-range radio communication with a portable terminal; a satellite RF module for signal processing in order to perform satellite communication via a satellite antenna; a voice data input and output unit for inputting and outputting voice data; and a satellite terminal control unit forming a traffic channel by using satellite communication via the satellite RF module according to a called party number inputted from the portable terminal through the satellite terminal short-range communication module so as to transmit the voice data inputted through the voice data input and output unit to the satellite RF module and output the voice data inputted by the satellite RF module through the voice data input and output unit.

본 발명은 휴대 단말기와 근거리 무선 통신을 수행하는 위성 단말기 근거리 통신모듈, 위성 안테나를 통해 위성통신을 수행할 수 있도록 신호처리하는 위성 RF 모듈, 음성 데이터를 입출력하는 음성 데이터 입출력부 및 휴대 단말기로부터 위성 단말기 근거리 통신모듈을 통해 입력된 착신번호에 따라 위성 RF 모듈을 통해 위성 통신을 이용한 통화 채널을 형성하여 음성 데이터 입출력부를 통해 입력되는 음성 데이터를 위성 RF 모듈로 전송하고 위성 RF 모듈에서 입력된 음성 데이터를 음성 데이터 입출력부를 통해 출력하는 위성 단말기 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
