Wir weisen auf das hin, was die stellvertretende Umwelt- und Wasserministerin Bulgariens, Fatme Iliaz, in dem gleichen Schreiben an den Europarat zu diesem Punkt gesagt hat, da dies den Standpunkt des bulgarischen Umweltministeriums deutlich macht: [] das Umweltministerium besteht darauf, dass alternative Szenarien für das Projekt (Bau der Autobahn Sofia-Thessaloniki] für den Teil der Struma-Autobahn zwischen Simitli und Kresna entwickelt werden.

As it gives a clear indication on the line chosen by the Ministry of Environment of Bulgaria, it is important to recall what Ms Iliaz, Deputy Minister for the Environment, stated on this issue in the same above-mentioned letter to the Council of Europe. She wrote: [T]he Ministry of Environment insists that alternative scenarios of the Project [for the construction of the Sofia Thessaloniki motorway] be developed for the construction of the part of the Struma motorway between the towns of Simitli and Kresna.

Als duidelijke aanwijzing voor de gedragslijn die het Bulgaarse ministerie van milieubeheer heeft gekozen, is het belangrijk voor ogen te houden wat mevrouw Iliaz, vice-minister van milieubeheer, in dit verband heeft verklaard in de bovengenoemde brief aan de Raad van Europa, waarin zij schrijft: (H)et ministerie van milieubeheer dringt erop aan dat alternatieve scenario's van het project (voor de aanleg van de autosnelweg Sofia Thessaloniki) worden uitgewerkt voor de aanleg van het gedeelte van de Struma-autoweg tussen de steden Simitli en Kresna.

Uma vez que indica claramente a orientação adoptada pelo Ministério do Ambiente búlgaro, é importante recordar as declarações da Vice-Ministro Fatme Iliaz na carta supramencionada enviada ao Conselho da Europa, na qual comunicou que o Ministério insiste no desenvolvimento de cenários alternativos ao projecto de construção da auto-estrada entre Sofia e Salónica, no que se refere ao troço da auto-estrada de Struma, entre as cidades de Simitli e Kresna.
