Based on the age attributed to the Los Monos and Itacua formations in this study, a hiatus is defined between them, characterized by an erosive phase during the Frasnian-Tournaisian and, another non-depositional hiatus identified in the latest Famennian ('Strunian'). This is interpreted from the presence/absence of reworked species with restricted stratigraphical range in the Itacua Formation assemblage.

Sobre la base de la edad atribuida a las formaciones Los Monos e Itacua en este estudio, queda definido un hiato entre ellas, caracterizado por un lapso erosivo en el Frasniano-Tournaisiano y otro no depositacional durante el Famenniano tardío ('Struniano'), basado en la presencia/ausencia en la asociación de la Formación Itacua de especies de palinomorfos retrabajados con extensión estratigráfica restringida.
