I believe that the struggle on behalf of the Roma is, above all, a struggle against poverty and not only amongst the Roma. We must make sure that we do not create a new divide, where the poor people outside the Roma communities are critical of the fact that the Roma are suddenly receiving large amounts of money or a great deal of attention.

De strijd voor de Roma is volgens mij vooral ook een strijd tegen de armoede, maar dit geldt niet alleen voor de Roma en we moeten ook oppassen dat niet nieuwe tegenstellingen ontstaan, aangezien armen die niet tot de Roma behoren, kritiek uiten op het feit dat Roma nu plotseling veel geld of aandacht krijgen.
