Wie ihr wißt, sind die Hirten der Kirche in Italien bemüht, jene christlichen Formen zu bewahren, die aus der großen Tradition des italienischen Volkes kommen und das gemeinschaftliche Leben prägen, indem sie sie aktualisieren, sie gegebenenfalls reinigen, sie vor allem aber festigen und fördern.

As you know well, the Pastors of the Church in Italy are anxious to preserve those Christian forms that derive from the great tradition of the Italian People and mould community life, bringing them up to date, purifying them where necessary, but above all reinforcing and encouraging them.
