This is being done not only in civilized countries, with large and excellent results, but also among uncultured peoples or those which the light of Christian truth has not yet reached, where missionary endeavor and, especially, the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood, rescues so many children and infants from the slavery of the devil and of wicked men, procuring for them the freedom of the children of God, and trains them to be members of civilized society.

Y no solamente realizan tan fecunda y saludable actividad entre los pueblos y las naciones civilizadas, sino también entre los rudos o no iluminados todavía con la luz del Cristianismo donde los predicadores del Evangelio —y en especial la Pontificia Obra de la Santa Infancia— recogen tantos niños y párvulos; librándolos de la esclavitud del demonio y de los hombres perversos, y haciéndoles participantes de la libertad de los hijos de Dios y de la verdadera civilización.
