87] It will also help them, if they behave towards their cherished offspring as God wills: that is, that the father be truly a father, and the mother truly a mother; through their devout love and unwearying care, the home, though it suffer the want and hardship of this valley of tears, may become for the children in its own way a foretaste of that paradise of delight in which the Creator placed the first men of the human race.

Így azt is elérik, hogy kedves gyermekeik előtt valóban olyannak mutatkozzanak, amilyennek Isten akarja a szülőket a gyermekek szemeiben: tudniillik, hogy az apa igazán apa, az anya igazán édesanya legyen, akiknek szeretete és fáradhatatlan gondoskodása által a szülői ház még a legnagyobb szegénységben, s itt a siralomvölgyben is annak a boldog paradicsomnak mása legyen a gyermekek számára, ahová a Teremtő az első embereket elhelyezte.

Ciò servirà loro di aiuto a dimostrarsi veramente tali verso la loro diletta prole, quali Iddio vuole che siano i genitori verso i loro figli: cioè un padre che sia veramente padre, una madre che sia veramente madre; sicché, grazie al loro pio amore e alle loro cure assidue, la casa paterna diventi per i figli, anche nella povertà più dura, in questa valle di lacrime, quasi un’immagine di quel paradiso di letizia, dove il Creatore dell’uman genere aveva collocato i nostri progenitori.
