Es en esta torre donde, también, queda plasmado uno de los grandes avances tecnológicos en el mundo de la arquitectura, una revolución constructiva, en la que el arquitecto lleva a un extremo los avances estructurales: los forjados ya no se apoyan en elementos de soporte vertical, sino que cuelgan mediante tirantes metálicos que funcionan a tracción y que transmiten las cargas de todo el peso a las paredes cerámicas circulares perimetrales, haciéndolas trabajar a compresión.
