The results show that when appropriate measures are taken, health benefits are achieveble by prevention and treatment of: physical and sexual violence, smoking, the use of opiates, alcohol abuse, vitamin B12 deficiency, over-and underweight, nutritional deficiencies, infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis B and C, malaria and syphilis, and exposure to environmental factors.

De resultaten laten zien dat met passende maatregelen duidelijke gezondheidsvoordelen te behalen zijn; bij de preventie en aanpak van fysiek- en seksueel geweld, roken, het gebruik van opiaten, alcoholmisbruik, vitamine B12 deficiëntie, over- en ondergewicht, voedingsdeficiënties, infectieziekten zoals tuberculose, HIV, hepatitis B en C, malaria en syfilis, en blootstelling aan schadelijke milieufactoren.
