وسيسفر تنفيذ هذا المشروع خلال الفترة 2002-2006 عن النتائج التالية: (أ) تمكين البلدان من تعيين شبكات النقل التي يمكن إنشاؤها فيما بين الأقاليم وآثارها المتوقعة على التنمية الإقليمية والاقتصادية؛ (ب) زيادة تعزيز قدرات المسؤولين الوطنيين في البلدان النامية بهدف تحديد العقبات المادية وغير المادية التي تعوق حركة السلع والأشخاص في الطرق والسكك الحديدية على السواء، والتسويق/الخصخصة، وتنمية المخازن الداخلية للحاويات، والممارسات والإجراءات المتعلقة بمعابر الحدود البرية، وعمليات الموانئ، وتطبيقات تبادل البيانات الإلكترونية، وتمويل صيانة الطرق؛ (ج) تشغيل منظومة أقاليمية لشبكات النقل.

The implementation of the project over the period 2002-2006 will result in: (a) enabling the countries to identify potential interregional transport linkages and their expected impacts on regional and economic development; (b) further strengthening the capacities of national officials in the developing countries with regard to identification of the physical and non-physical impediments to the movements of goods and passengers both by road and by rail, commercialization/privatization, inland container depot development, land border crossing practices and formalities, seaport operations, electronic data interchange applications and financing of road maintenance; and (c) operationalizing an interregional network of transport linkages.

La puesta en práctica del proyecto en el período 2002-2006 tendrá como resultado: a) facilitar a los países la identificación de posibles redes interregionales de transporte y las consecuencias previstas para su desarrollo económico y regional; b) fortalecer aún más la capacidad de los funcionarios nacionales de los países en desarrollo con respecto a la determinación de los obstáculos físicos y no físicos a la circulación de mercancías y pasajeros por carretera y ferrocarril, la comercialización/privatización, el desarrollo de depósitos para contenedores en el interior, prácticas y formalidades para el cruce de fronteras, operaciones en los puertos marítimos, aplicaciones del intercambio electrónico de datos y financiación para la conservación de carreteras; y c) poner en servicio una red interregional de transporte.

在2002-2006年期间实施该项目将产生以下成果:(a)使各国能够查明潜在的区域间运输线及预计对区域及经济发展产生的影响;(b)进一步提高发展中国家官员的能力,以查明对以下各方面产生的有形和无形障碍:即货物和乘客在公路和铁路上的流动情况、商业化/私有化进程、内陆集装箱装卸站的发展、陆路过境惯例和手续、港口作业、电子数据交换应用以及公路维修的资金筹措;(c)使区域间联运网络投入运作。
