The Interislander ferry service crosses New Zealand's Cook Strait, between Wellington and Picton, bridging the gap between the North and South Islands. Taking approximately three hours, the route was once described as “one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world”, with Interislander traversing this scenic, ninety-two kilometre route for over fifty years, transporting more than a million passengers each year in that time.
