وفي غواتيمالا، اضطلعت منظمة العمل الدولية بسلسلة من المشاورات مع مركز حقوق الإنسان والتنمية الديمقراطية، ومقره في كندا، ومع اللجنة الاستشارية لمنظمات مايان لغواتيمالا، عن مضمون ونطاق صك مشترك بين الدول الأمريكية عن حقوق الشعوب الأصلية، تم وضعه على غرار الاتفاقية رقم 169.

In Guatemala, the ILO conducted a series of consultations with the Canadian-based Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development and the Coordinating Body for the Mayan Organizations of Guatemala (COPMAGUA) on the content and scope of an inter-American instrument on the rights of indigenous peoples, which is modelled on Convention No. 169.

En Guatemala, la OIT llevó a cabo una serie de consultas con el Centro de Derechos Humanos y Desarrollo Democrático con base en el Canadá y el órgano coordinador de las organizaciones mayas de Guatemala (COPMAGUA) sobre el contenido y alcance de un instrumento interamericano sobre los derechos de las poblaciones indígenas, que tiene por modelo el Convenio No 169.
