The Forum of Regulators was constituted by the Ministry of Power vide notification dated 16th February, 2005 under provisions of section 166(2) of the Electricity Act, 2003 with the primary objective of harmonization of regulations in the power sector framed by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERCs) and Joint Electricity Regulatory Commissions (JERCs).

ફોરમ ઓફ રેગ્યુલેટર્સની રચના 16 ફેબ્રુઆરી, 2015ના રોજ વીજ મંત્રાલયના નોટિફિકેશન દ્વારા ઊર્જા કાયદા, 2003ની કલમ 166(2)ની જોગવાઈઓ હેઠળ થઈ હતી, જેનો મુખ્ય ઉદ્દેશ કેન્દ્રીય વીજ નિયમન પંચ (સીઇઆરસી), રાજ્ય વીજ નિયમન પંચો (એસઇઆરસી) અને સંયુક્ત વીજ નિયમન પંચો (જેઇઆરસી) દ્વારા બનાવેલા વીજ ક્ષેત્ર માટેના નિયમો વચ્ચે સંકલન સ્થાપિત કરવાનો છે.

ஒழுங்கியக்கிகளின் ஆணையம் ஆற்றல் அமைச்சகத்தின் பிப்ரவரி 16, 2005 தேதியிட்ட அறிவிக்கையின்படி, மின்சார சட்டம் 2003ன் பகுதி 166(2)ன்படி, மின் துறையை ஒழுங்குமுறைப்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் மத்திய மின்சார ஒழுங்கியக்க ஆணையம் (CERC), மாநில மின்சார ஒழுங்கியக்க ஆணையம் (SERCs) மற்றும் கூட்டு மின்சார ஒழுங்கிய ஆணையங்களின் (JERCs) மூலம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
