Für die Untersuchung dieser Eigenschaft wurden reine Zug-Schwellbeanspruchungen parallel zur Faserrichtung des Holzes gewählt, bei denen einer statischen Relaxation (konstante mittlere Dehnung) dynamische Relaxationsprozesse (Schwingdehnungen um die konstante Mitteldehnung) überlagert wurden.

For testing the fatigue strength, a pure pulsating tensile load parallel to the grain was applied so that dynamic relaxation processes (as a consequence of strains oscillating about a constant mean strain) are superimposed on a static relaxation (as a consequence of a constant mean strain).
