Γύρω στα μεσάνυχτα οι Κανταδόροι των Ανωγείων, ξεκινώντας από την πλατεία (όπου είχε στηθεί γλέντι με άφθονη ρακή) και ταξιδεύοντας προς τα σοκάκια του χωριού, ακολούθησαν τη μελωδική γραμμή του Ερωτόκριτου με λύρες και μαντολίνα, με σύμμαχο τη νύχτα και την ανωνυμία που προσφέρει.
