I like huge, dark wooden antique furniture and apparently the Potters do as well;) Smaller sofas would of course have taken up less space, but I couldn't stomach the thought of the big family not having roomy couches to lie on, so I deliberately made them so big they'll take up half the living Two foot stools for Harry's study, made from napkin rings.
