Mr. Abbas is a Sudanese diplomat with long working experience in the United Nations and comes to the organization from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Anchored institutionally in the Office of the Executive Director, the Programme Co-ordinator is currently based in the UN--Habitat office in Geneva and undertakes regular missions to the Middle East, New York and Nairobi
