Der vorliegende Beitrag soll zum einen eine kurze Übersicht zu methodischen Aspekten und Problemen der Leitlinienerstellung geben und zum anderen den Stand der Literatur zu einigen wichtigen Fragen im Umfeld der Weisheitszahnentfernung referieren.

The present article gives a brief review of methodological aspects and problems in the formulation of the guidelines as well as a summary of the state of the literature on some important questions in the field of wisdom tooth extraction.
