The Special Rapporteur transmitted an allegation on behalf of Jafar Siddiq Hamzah, a human rights lawyer from the Indonesia Legal Aid and Chairman of the International Forum for Aceh, a not-for-profit corporation incorporated in New York State, who returned to Indonesia in July 2000 to establish an office of the Support Committee for Human Rights in Aceh and to publish the second edition of the first-ever Acehnese language newspaper, Su Atjeh.
