Daraus ergeben sich bei einigen eine gewisse gefühlsmäßige Entfremdung dem Marienkult gegenüber und bestimmte Schwierigkeiten, sich Maria von Nazaret zum Vorbild zu nehmen, weil – wie man behauptet – sich der Horizont ihres Lebens im Gegensatz zu dem weiten Betätigungsbereich, in dem der heutige Mensch zu wirken berufen ist, als zu begrenzt erweist.
