After this encounter the Peruvian Navy, composed at that time of 16 warships and transports, among them the frigate Presidente and the mentioned corvette Libertad, started a naval blockade ordered by the Peruvian Government on the 19 September 1828, of the entire Gran Colombian Pacific coasts.

Después de este encuentro de la Marina de Guerra del Perú, compuesta en ese momento de 16 buques de guerra y transportes, entre ellos la fragata Presidente y la corbeta Libertad, inició el bloqueo naval, ordenado por el Gobierno del Perú el 19 de septiembre de 1828, de toda la costa de la Gran Colombia.
