(3) Subsection (1) applies for the purpose of determining the net tax for any reporting period of a charity beginning after 1996 and any election by the charity under subsection 227(1) of the Act that would, but for this subsection, have been in effect at the beginning of the first reporting period of the charity beginning after 1996 is deemed to have ceased to have effect immediately before that reporting period.

(3) Le paragraphe (1) s’applique au calcul de la taxe nette pour les périodes de déclaration d’un organisme de bienfaisance qui commencent après 1996, et le choix que l’organisme fait en vertu du paragraphe 227(1) de la même loi et qui, sans le présent paragraphe , aurait été en vigueur au début de sa première période de déclaration commençant après 1996 est réputé avoir cessé d’être en vigueur immédiatement avant cette période.
