Everyone, who has a radio and/or a television set capable of receiving programmes, has to pay the appropriate licence fees to the state broadcasting organisations via the GEZ (Gebühreneinzugszentrale der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland = Licence fee collection centre of the public broadcasting organisations in the Federal Republic of Germany).
