It is rumoured that the Dutch Presidency, which will shortly replace the current Presidency of the Union, is drafting a formal decision on taking the first step towards a bicameral system. — Is the Commission aware that such a plan is in the offing? — Does the Commission agree that, in order to reform the Union, it is necessary to transform the functioning of the existing Parliament, and possibly to divide it?

Úgy hallani, hogy a jelenlegi uniós elnökséget hamarosan váltó holland elnökség formális döntést készít elő a kétkamarás rendszer első lépcsőjének megteremtéséhez. Ezzel kapcsolatban várok választ arra, hogy — van-e tudomása a Bizottságnak arról, hogy ilyen irányú tervezés zajlik? — egyetért-e a Bizottság azzal, hogy az Unió reformjához a jelenlegi parlamenti működés átalakítása, esetleges felosztása kell?
