Eine Besonderheit bei Uranus ist seine Achsenneigung von fast 90°. Die Folge dieser extremen Neigung ist, dass während eines Teils des Umlaufs ein Pol ständig der Sonne zugewandt ist, während der andere ständig von der Sonne abgewandt ist.
