ومن الواضح أن إسرائيل، القوة المحتلة، تحاول إلحاق أقصى الأضرار بالفلسطينيين وأن تقتل أكبر عدد ممكن منهم من خلال هذه الحملة العسكرية تحقيقا لهدف واضح هو تقويض هيكل السلطة الفلسطينية وإرغام الشعب الفلسطيني على الاستسلام للاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
