His long relationship with music, his years of friendship with many musicians, derived in some very important collaborations like the songs The Lost Birds and Private Scandals with Ástor Piazzolla, or Enrico Rava's excellent album Quotation Marks (Japo Records, 1976), in which played, among others, John Abercrombie, Jack DeJohnette and the Argentinian musicians Néstor Astarita and Ricardo Lew, and in which the singer Jeanne Lee sings Trejo's poems written in English.

Dalla sua lunga relazione con la musica e dai suoi anni di amicizia con molti musicisti, nacquero alcune collaborazioni importanti per i testi delle canzoni Los pájaros perdidos e Escándalos privados con Ástor Piazzolla o per l'album di Enrico Rava Quotation Marks (Japo Records, 1976) in cui suonavano, tra gli altri, John Abercrombie, Jack DeJohnette e i musicisti argentini Néstor Astarita e Ricardo Lew e in cui la cantante Jeanne Lee canta le poesie di Trejo scritte in inglese.
