وكان الهدف من هذا المشروع هو تقييم أداء نظام رسم خرائط التهطال الساتلية العالمية من حيث دقة البيانات التي يوفّرها كل ساعة عن التهطال في الفلبين، وذلك عن طريق المقارنة بين كم الأمطار التي تسجلها المحطات الخمسة الموجودة على امتداد حوض نهر كاغايان (محطات قياس سقوط المطر عن بُعد في توغويغاراو وتوماويني وبانغال وغامو وماريس).

That project was aimed at assessing the performance of the hourly GSMaP precipitation data in the Philippines by comparing the amount of rainfall in the five rainfall stations in the Cagayan river basin (the Tuguegarao, Tumauini, Pangal, Gamu and Maris telemetered rainfall stations) The GSMaP rainfall data currently used by the JAXA Precipitation Measuring Mission science team has a 0.1 degree x 0.1 degree resolution (approximately 10 km).
