When I arrived, I crossed the main street in front of the airport in order to rest at the Best Western Las Mercedes (the hotel was expensive but it is what the University chose; and I didn't think otherwise; also for my mom, who is reading the blog, it was the safest option, and safety is the most important thing; obviously).
