It shows that the disorder occurs more frequently than what it is usual/y thought, but due to the peculiar and nonspecific clinical characteristics, it is often misdiagnosed and therefore not appropiately treated.

Se demuestra que es un trastorno que se presenta con mas frecuencia de lo que comúnmente se cree, pero que por sus particulares e inespecíficas manifestaciones clínicas, que llevan a confundirlo con otras entidades psiquiátricas, es habitualmente subdiagnosticado y por ende no adecuadamente tratado.
