공조장치의 온도제어 방법이, 설정 기간의 실외온도들에 대한 실외지수 가중치 평균온도를 계산하는 과정과, 실외지수 가중치 평균온도 및 운전조건에 따른 가변상수 및 고정상수를 설정하는 과정과, 실외지수 가중치 평균온도에 상기 가변 상수를 곱하고 고정상수를 더하여 쾌적온도를 설정하는 과정과, 설정된 쾌적온도로 실내 온도를 제어하는 과정으로 이루어진다. 여기서 고정상수 및 가변상수는 실외지수 가중치 평균온도와 쾌적온도의 분포의 관계를 회귀분석을 통해 구한 상수이며, 쾌적온도의 분포는 고정 상수 크기에서 상기 실외지수 가중치 평균온도에 따라 가변상수의 기울기로 선형 증가되는 특징을 가진다.
