In the light of the importance of cycling to integrated transport , can you encourage local authorities , as part of their local transport plan submissions , to place greater emphasis on cycling and on provision for cycling ? Will you also talk to the rail operating companies about the need to encourage cyclists onto their trains and to provide appropriate space for their bicycles on those trains ?
