The reason stated by the Minister for postponing consideration of applications by these knowledge workers (according to the Immigration and Naturalisation Service, there are 125 such applications) lies in the sanctions imposed against Iran by Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 of 23 March 2012 (the ‘new sanctions’)(2).
