His name was given by his initiators, Carlos Francsico Marroquín, supported by his father Antonio Marroquín, and seconded by the board of directors of the Guatemalan Association of Authors and Composers, who began to plant trees of hormigo, declared as the Tree of Culture, of the Marimba and the Peace, and whose wood is used for the construction of the national instrument, between 1983 and 1984.

Su nombre le fue dado por sus iniciadores, Carlos Francsico Marroquín, apoyado por su padre Antonio Marroquín, y secundados por la directiva de la Asociación Guatemalteca de Autores y Compositores, quienes comenzaron a sembrar árboles de hormigo, declarado como el Árbol de la Cultura, de la Marimba y de la Paz, y cuya madera es utilizada para la construcción del instrumento nacional, entre 1983 y 1984.
