This period of social and political agitation saw the emergence of many of the main agents in the creation of the bibliographical fond known as the Romanones collection, but actually put together by the Malagueñan Marquises of Casa-Loring and completed by the Vice-Count of Irueste and probably his brother, the Count of Romanones, who donated the collection to the Alhambra in 1909.

De esa agitación política y social, participarán precisamente los protagonistas de la creación de este fondo bibliográfico que genéricamente denominamos «Fondo Romanones», pero que fue conformado por los malagueños Marqueses de Casa-Loring, completado por el Vizconde de Irueste y probablemente por su hermano el Conde Romanones, que dispuso el depósito de los libros en la Alhambra, como así sucedió en agosto de 1909.
