Baal was a god of the rain and the storm and is represented on a Ras Shamra stele brandishing a mace in his right hand and holding in his left hand a stylized thunderbolt ending in a spearhead.

Baal était le dieu de la pluie et de l’orage. Aussi, Baal est- il représenté, sur une stèle découverte à Ras-Shamra, brandissant une massue de la main droite et tenant dans la main gauche une foudre stylisée, qui se termine par une pointe de lance.
