As I expanded the scope of this work from the simple question and answer sheet to what it is now, on of my objectives was to make it also useful to people who have no intention of becoming jazz perforers, but who wish to increase their understanding of the music in order to gain a better appreciatio for it.

A medida que fui ampliando el horizonte de este trabajo desde las preguntas más sencillas y su correspondiente hoja de respuestas hasta lo que es ahora, se convirtió en uno de mis objetivos el que también sirviera para los que no tenían la intención de llegar a ser intérpretes de jazz pero, en cambio, deseaban acrecentar su comprensión de la música y mejorar de ese modo su apreciación.
