يملك هذان البلدان جذورًا تاريخيّة ثقافيّة ودينيّة عريقة جدًّا ولكنّهما يعيشان في الوقت عينه مرحلة جديدة: في الواقع يحتفل كلاهما هذا العام بالذكرى الخامسة والعشرين لاستقلالهما كونهما قد عاشا لفترة كبيرة من القرن العشرين تحت النظام السوفياتيّ.

Both of these countries have historical, cultural and religious roots that are very ancient, but at the same time they are experiencing a new phase: in fact, both are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their independence this year, having been under the Soviet regime for a large part of the 20th century.
