Det er i særdeleshed vores hensigt at fastholde EU's permanente tilstedeværelse i denne sag, så meget mere, selvfølgelig, fordi Cypern er ansøger til optagelse i EU, og med en forhandlingsprodure der er langt fremme, hvilket naturligvis vækker nogle forventninger og bevirker, at EU har en forholdsvis betydelig rolle i denne sammenhæng.

In particular, we intend that the European Union should maintain a constant profile on this issue, and of course all the more so since Cyprus is a candidate for membership of the European Union with negotiations at a fairly advanced stage.
