We have recalled briefly the essential element of priestly vocation, which is the clear, definite and enduring intention to embrace the priestly state, through a desire especially for the glory of God, the salvation of one's own soul, the souls of one's brethren and of all who have been redeemed by the Precious Blood of our divine Savior. It will not be out of place now to refer to the other factors involved in the total preparation of the future minister of the altar.

Dopo questo breve richiamo all'elemento indispensabile della vocazione sacerdotale, ch'è la volontà chiara, decisa, costante di abbracciare lo stato sacerdotale, principalmente mirando alla gloria di Dio, alla salvezza dell'anima propria e dei propri fratelli, anzi, di tutti i redenti dal Sangue preziosissimo del Salvatore divino, non sarà fuor di luogo un accenno agli altri elementi che concorrono alla perfetta preparazione del futuro ministro dell'altare.

Postquam igitur id summatim memoravimus, quod prorsus requiritur in lis, qui divino afflatu ad sacerdotium vocantur, hoc est manifestam, promptam atque firmam voluntatem sacra munera capessendi, spectatis potissimum Dei gloria amplificanda et sui ipsius fratrumque aeterna salute exquirenda, imo et omnium pretiosissimo divini Servatoris Sanguine redemptorum, non allenum esse arbitramur et alia breviter attingere, quae ad sacerdotii candidatos perfecte absoluteque instituendos prosunt.
