Da en eventuel nedrivning af det pågældende monument og de mere langvarige bestræbelser på at få rejst et monument over de estiske SS-soldater har chokeret den offentlige opinion i Europa, fordi sådanne handlinger krænker mindet om alle dem, som faldt i kampen mod nazismen, hvordan agter Rådet da at reagere på nedrivningen af det historiske mindesmærke og forsøget på at rehabilitere nationalsocialismen i Estland?

Eine eventuelle Zerstörung des Denkmals und die in der Vergangenheit registrierten Bestrebungen, ein Denkmal für einen estnischen SS-Mann zu errichten, fordern die öffentliche Meinung in Europa heraus, da solche Aktivitäten einen Affront gegen das Gedenken an alle im Kampf gegen den Nazismus Gefallenen bedeuten. Auf welche Weise will der Rat der angestrebten Zerstörung des historischen Gedächtnisses und dem Versuch einer Verharmlosung des Nationalsozialismus in Estland entgegentreten?

Δεδομένου ότι η ενδεχόμενη καταστροφή του μνημείου καθώς και η παλαιότερη προσπάθεια ανέγερσης μνημείου σε εσθονό πολεμιστή των Ες–Ες έχουν προκαλέσει την ευρωπαϊκή κοινή γνώμη αφού τέτοιες ενέργειες προσβάλλουν την ιστορική μνήμη όλων όσων έπεσαν στη μάχη εναντίον του ναζισμού, τι προτίθεται να πράξει το Συμβούλιο ώστε να αντιδράσει στην επιχειρούμενη καταστροφή της ιστορικής μνήμης και την προσπάθεια ωραιοποίησης του εθνικοσοσιαλισμού στην Εσθονία;

In view of the fact that the proposed demolition of the memorial and a previous move to erect a memorial to Estonian SS fighters has already provoked a public outcry in Europe, such actions being viewed as an insult to the memory of all who fell in the battle against Nazism, how will the Council oppose this attempt to extinguish past memories and to put a favourable gloss on the National Socialist element of Estonian history?
