Albeit being members of the European Commission, President Barroso and Vice-President Reding attended the 2013 Bilderberg conference in their personal capacity and not as representatives of the Commission, as it was the case in the past concerning the participation of other Members of the Commission to previous Bilderberg conferences.

Hoewel zij lid zijn van de Europese Commissie, hebben voorzitter Barroso en vicevoorzitter Reding de Bilderbergconferentie van 2013 op persoonlijke titel bijgewoond en niet als vertegenwoordigers van de Commissie.
